Ceramics to me is about the exploration of form and the personal time spent crafting each piece. When I work with clay the choices I make are based not only on design from what can be seen but from the element of touch as well, each piece is pushed and pulled into shape , each motion is a decision made. For the 25 objects project the first 20 objects are made as an exploration of the media, where one choice or discovery can lead to influence the following pieces until a coherent pattern reveals itself. In my work the organic forms stood out as well as a passion for creating characters of sorts as each piece takes its own personality and characteristics. These choices lead me to my final 5 objects, The rabbits. The rabbits are altered to be whimsical and disturbing in a sense similar to the organic forms produced in the top 20. Each rabbit takes its own unique form and displays its own characteristics that developed as a result of the first 20 objects and the choices made from them.
