Dye Session 1

Frozen Berries

For this dye bath I used frozen blueberries in 3 gallons of water. The berries were simmered until the color had drained from them and the fabric was added, it remained in the dye bath overnight in hopes of acheiving a richer color. The fabric was treated with various folding and tieing techniques to achive the patterns.

Dye Session 2

Tumeric

For this dye bath I used half a bottle of Tumeric powder in 3 gallons of water. The dye bath was brought to a simmer and the fabric was added, it remained in the dye bath for 2 hours before being removed. The fabric was treated with various folding and tieing techniques to achive the patterns while some remained plain to get a solid hue. 

Dye Session 3

Black Tea

For this dye bath I used half 20 black tea bags  in 2 gallons of water. The dye bath was brought to a simmer and the fabric was added after the tea had steaped for an hour, it remained in the dye bath overnight before being removed. The fabric was treated with various folding and tieing techniques to achive the patterns while some remained plain to get a solid hue.

Dye Session 4

Avocado pits and skins

For this dye bath I used 4 avocado pits and their skins in 3 gallons of water. The dye bath was brought to a simmer and the fabric was added after the color had begun to enter the dye bath, it remained in the dye bath overnight before being removed. The fabric was treated with various folding and tieing techniques to achive the patterns while some remained plain to get a solid hue.
