The Soap Carving assignment challenged me to create an animal from a block of soap, for this we used a small plastic animal as the reference point for our sculpts. I had chosen a fox to study and use for this assignment. The challenge I faced in creating this was finding a way to think mainly through the negative space around the fox. To add the tail and ears I had to use the shavings from the negative space and mix it with water to create a mold-able paste that I was able to attach onto the form.
